I have carefully read and understood all of the following terms for enrolling in this course:
- I will carefully read the course syllabus, which is available on
the course website.
- I understand that there will be THREE in-class exams on March 4,
April 10, and May 13, and a cumulative final exam.
The final exam may be scheduled as late as May 22.
- I will bring a #2 pencil and student ID to all exams.
- I understand that unpenalized make-up exams and excused absences
for in-class participation scores will only be given for DOCUMENTED
reasons beyond my control and that the reason must be given at the
earliest time and date possible.
- I will arrange to notify the instructor, in writing, of any
scheduling conflicts with other university-sponsored activities or
religious observances at least a week in advance.
- I understand that in-class activities and web-based OWL
assignments will be combined to form a participation grade that is
worth just as much as one of the exams. The lowest three scores (including
absences) among the in-class activities and among the pre-class OWL
quizes will be dropped before calculating these grades.
- I understand that no extensions will be granted for OWL
assignments barring exceptional circumstances. In the event of
technical problems, I will leave a voice-mail or email message at least
one hour in advance of the ending time for any OWL assignment. I will
provide a thorough description of the problem and what alternative
means have been attempted to complete the assignment.
- I understand that my in-class activity grade is based in large
part on using a functioning PRS transmitter and I will bring my PRS
transmitter to each class.
- I will not represent anyone else's work as my own or assist
anyone else in submitting work that is not their own, unless the
instructor has explicitly stated that cooperative work is acceptable. I
understand that failure to observe the rules of academic honesty is
likely to result in a failing grade for the course.
If I do not agree to these terms, I must see the instructor and
explain in writing my objections in order to remain enrolled in this
course.
