Every night, I look at the sky,

I wonder what is in the sky.

Now I know that it’s stars and galaxies that rule the sky,

For astronomy has taught me,

Taught me of my past and of the future.

The future is bleak yet now I know,

What I must do to make myself known.

From Galaxies to Stars,

Astronomy is the way to learn of our past,

Our past that started with a blast.

Life is such a fragile thing,

Yet it’s so rich and it’s so rare.

Death is the very essence of life,

For the collapse of a star can cause the birth of another.

Stars and galaxies are so different, yet they are the same.

For now, we know some mysteries of the universe,

Like gravity and the inverse square law.

Astronomy, the study of the stars,

We know so little, but we know that astronomy has taught us,

Taught us many great things that many years later,

We can decipher.
