IDL Setup

To setup your IDL to run Daniel's IDL routines in the /net/xray/pub/xrayidl directory, you need to copy the file xidl_setup from the directory to your own directory and make appropriate changes. You then need to add something in your .cshrc file. Here is an example if you use my xidl_setup in the original directory:

setenv PUBDIR /net/xray/pub/

setenv xidl $PUBDIR/xrayidl

setenv IDL_DIR /usr/local/rsi/idl

alias xidl 'source $xidl/xidl_setup'

alias xidlde 'source $xidl/xidlde_setup'

alias idlbatch 'source $xidl/idlbatch_setup'

After this inclusion, you need to source .cshrc to activate the setup for your current window.

By typing xidl at the prompt, you'll have the IDL pointed to the routines and hopefully to yours as well.
