    The theory group at UMASS is involved in a number of projects using the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) to study Cosmology, Galaxy Evolution, the Local Group and the Milky Way. 2MASS is an all sky survey in the near infrafred (J, H and Ksbands). There are more than 500 million sources in the point source catalog and 1.6 million sources in the extended source catalog. The 2MASS catalogs have been made available to the public.  Below are some of the images we have produced with the 2MASS catalog as well as links to the revlevant papers.
