05/01/02 Ali (2001: Will Smith, Jon Voight) Hampshire Mall
While the movie looks good and the acting is pretty good I felt let down I didn't really see much more then I already knew and the documentary films I have seen are so much better. First nothing will come close to When We Were Kings for shear brilliance and I have seen an exactly piece on the Ali/Frazier fight at Madison Square Garden on ESPN. So to impress this film would have had to do something else and instead it just kind of gave a summary of those two fights with a lot of footage of Malcolm X, but little insight into Ali's and X's relationship. The film touched on many things, but what you really would have wanted would be to learn more about Ali's relationship with the Black Muslims, Ali's relationships with his wives and children, Ali's relationship with his manager and trainer. The film feels like what you would see as an outsider.

10/01/02 Shrek (2001: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz) DVD

11/01/02 When We Were Kings (Dir Leon Gast 1996: Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Don King, James Brown) DVD
Incredible, possibly the best documentary I've ever seen. It manages to capture all the excitement as if you are really there at the "Rumble in the Jungle" and at the same time it provides depth and insight so that you feel like you understand it better then you would have had you really been there.

26/01/02 Black Hawk Down (2001) Hampshier Mall

03/02/02 The Royal Tenenbaums (Dir Wes Anderson 2001; Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Owen Wilson, Danny Glover, Bill Murray) Pleasant Street Theatre
Very remincent of Rushmore, really well shot somewhat dark comedy. I was a little dissapointed that it wasn't funnier, but it had some good moments and tries to deal with more serious issues.

This anime is  a modern version of the 1927 film of the same name.

26/10/02 Red Dragon (2002: Anthony Hopkins, Edward Nortan) Hampshire Cinemark
Not a bad movie, billions of times better then Hannibal. Nortan is as usual very good. The story is pretty good, the same as in Manhunter which was pretty good. Hannibals involvment is minimal, which is good because you don't want to see Silence of the Lambs all over again. I thought the movie tried to be a little to much like Silence and would have been better if it didn't have that connection like was the case for Manhunter.

07/11/02 Frida (2002: Salma Hayek) Encico Lemela
The story of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

22/11/02 Die Another Day (2002: Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry) Mann Valley West
The Salma Hayek) Encico Lemela
The 20th Bond film I find better then most recent Bond flicks because the story line is slightly more complicated then other ones, also Halle Berry is great to watch to I wish her charachter was a little tougher and didn't do the 'Oh James' stuff.

15/12/02 Star Trek: Nemisis (2002: Patrik Stewart) Hampshire Cinemark
This was a pretty decent Star Trek movie (most aren't) but of course it still had some major flaws.

18/12/02 Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Dir Peter Jackson, 2002) Hampshire Cinemark
This was a pretty decent Star Trek movie (most aren't) but of course it still had some major flaws.
