Early February, hiking Finger Rock Trail in Tucson with Mom, Julie, and Rooster.
Mid February, Julie and I explored the California coast for our first Valentine's trip. Near San Simeon we had the good fortune to encounter an elephant seal colony.
Monterey Bay Aquarium and just south of Carmel on Pacific Coast Highway.
July, Julie and I flew to Ohio and then drove to Finger Lakes region of NY
for Jason and Michelle's wedding. Afterwards, we visited
Grandpa Mike in CT and had a lovely day exploring the New England coast,
including Mystic, CT and Watch Hill, RI.
In early September, we all spent a night at the telescope on Mt. Bigelow.
The next day we went for a fun hike on Aspen Loop near the summit of Mt. Lemmon. Here are some hikers who say
they "hate hiking". Here is a rare glimpse of famed
mountain man, sometime
astronomer and distant nephew of Grizzly Adams. And an even more
incredible shot of a
striped, play station beast,
believed to be found only
in caves, or dark holes at least!
In September, Julie and I spent a romantic weekend in
San Carlos, Mexico, one
of my most favorite places in the entire world. This weekend was very special
for it marked our first full year together, and it was here that I first met
Julie. Being the romantic that I am, I proposed marriage and Julie tearfully
accepted ... it was a beauteous
occasion. Later that evening, we had a special
visitor stop by
to congratulate us. The next day we spent at the beach where we entertained
yet more
visitors. Here I am
happily engaged in
sunny San Carlos.
In October, we returned to San Carlos with Tyler and Ryann. The weather was
gorgeous and cooperative, we had a
great day
snorkeling and exploring
the beach. Here's a young distant cousin of
Jacques Cousteu exploring
some tide pools. Here is the great snorkeling master in
action. At the end of the
day we bid our flying friends
pleasant travels. I was
saddened to leave this magical place, but I know we will return.
Our happy house on La Canada Place, with a backyard view of Pusch Ridge.
