Early spring: good times in Massachusetts.
Taking advantage of a nice March days, we feed the geese at UMass pond, and luck out with beautiful weather for our 4th anniversary in Cape Cod. In April we party for my 41st birthday.

May: short trip to Ohio.
We drove to Ohio to meet my mom and Ryann, who flew out from California, for my Grandpa Bob "Wyle" Gates' memorial. Wonderful visit staying at Grandma Tressie's, including a delicious dinner by Aunt Jen, and a big family party at Grandma's.

July: we visit Los Angeles and Bishop, California.
Julie goes to Animal Rights 2005 conference, and Dan spends week with Tyler and Ryann (who did not want to be captured on film). We visit at Erika's, Jason's, and Scott's. Then four days visiting Mom and hiking in the High Sierras.

August: Dan goes to NNG05 in Santa Cruz, California.
Great conference, partying with old and new friends, a visit to Lick Observatory, biking along the Santa Cruz coast, and exploring the seashore at Point Lobos sanctuary. Go to the official NNG photo pages for more on the conference, banquet, and visit to Lick Obs..

November: sunset walk to Quabbin Reservoir, Massachusetts.
I had just finished my last softball games of 2005, and with enough daylight left, Julie and I met for a spontaneous late-fall viewing of the sunset over the Quabbin.
