Course Overview

The four-credit course is an astrophysics class for upper-level astronomy majors.  The goal of the course is twofold:
  •           To become familiar with the observational facts about galaxies
  •           To learn the physical principles that govern the structure, evolution and formation of galaxies

The course will prepare you to tackle standard graduate text books and research articles on galaxy formation and evolution, one of the most important research fields in modern astrophysics.
