What Do You and I See?

(I wrote this in high school. The first copy of this poem was accompanied with a single red rose and left on the door step of a girl I had the biggest and longest crush on.)

As you look at yourself what do you see?
Is it the same thing as me?
I gaze upon a beautiful woman
Not a girl, but a lady.

So this is very hard for me to say,
To open myself this way,
Please, please do not become too embarrassed,
I mean what I write this day.

With your lovely smile setting anew
Pleasant thoughts I have of you.
Your soft brown eyes set my heart in motion
I yearn to say, "J'adore vous!"

I tell you all of this without a lie,
Straight from the heart, you ask why,
It's to impress you and to leave my mark.
Just an adorer am I.
