Abstract

Inflationary cosmology has become a cornerstone of early
Universe cosmology. I will review the principles of
inflationary cosmology and discuss two areas in which our
understanding of inflationary cosmology has improved
significantly in recent years, namely the theory of
reheating and the theory of cosmological fluctuations.
The emphasis of the colloquium will be on the conceptual
problems of current realizations of inflationary cosmology.
