TITLE:	The Cosmic Microwave Background: Progress and Prospects


Abstract:

	Recent observations of the faint structures imprinted on the 
Cosmic Microwave Background have completely transformed cosmology. 
The CMB has proven to be a pristine relic of the early universe which 
can be measured with high precision.  Unlike X-ray and IR astronomy, 
ground-based experiments will play an increasingly important role in 
CMB observations as the field matures.
