Welcome to the Orchard Hill Observatory

     The Orchard Hill Observatory is UMass Amherst's premier optical observatory. It is located on the highest point on the UMass campus and is home to a 16-inch Cassegrain telescope. The observatory is used for research, events, and also for the famous open observatory nights.

ALERT: THE OBSERVATORY IS AGAIN OPERATIONAL. PLEASE COME TO THE OBSERVATORY ON ORCHARD HILL FOR THE OPEN HOUSE NIGHTS ON THURSDAYS!
