When you come to the observatory on
Thursday nights or for a private tour, your tour will be led by Ross Dubois.
Ross is an undergraduate astronomy major who has been involved in telescopes
and observational astronomy for many years. His interests are astronomy
outreach and teaching methods. Ross has conducted independent research at
Orchard Hill Observatory in outreach techniques and methods, co-taught the
course Observational Astronomy - a course for non-astronomy majors which
introduces the night sky and the mechanics of observational astronomy.
Ross is currently creating an
honors component for Astronomy 100 which will be taught in the Spring 2008
semester. This course will serve as Ross' senior project.
