SCHEDULE OF PUBLIC EVENTS

  • PLANETARIUM SHOWS: Shows for the general public are held every Saturday from September through April at 4 p.m. at the Bassett Planetarium in Morgan Hall, on the Amherst College Campus. Click here for a map of the Amherst College campus, showing Morgan Hall.

  • ORCHARD HILL OBSERVING: Every Thursday evening from 7:30-9:30 p.m., weather permitting, the Orchard Hill telescope will be open for public viewing. Call 7-4166 after 7:00 p.m. to check on the observing status, which will depend on weather and equipment. Click here for a map showing the location of the Observatory.

  • PUBLIC SUNWHEEL GATHERINGS: Sunrise and sunset gatherings at the UMass Sunwheel are held every solstice and equinox. Click here for the scheduled events for the upcoming year.
