I believe outreach to the public and policymakers is crucial to the advancement of any science particularly with astrophysics because of its large collaborations and large-scale projects, which is why I hope to get involved early on. I’m also the co-founder and Co-Director of the UMass Science Policy & Advocacy initiative, which is a new undergraduate RSO bridges scientific research with policymaking. I hope to use my role as an AAS Astronomy Ambassador to raise awareness of current scientific research and its societal implications among non-scientists and students.
